Lauren and Niall - Enchanted to meet you

Niall pov;

A yawn escaped my mouth and I covered it with my hand and squeezed my eyes closed. We had been invited to this party, which was hosted by our manager, so we had to go. And I hate masquerade balls.

It’s not that I don’t like these kind of events, I just don’t like the alcohol ban placed on me by my band mates and management.

I looked around at all of the people in the giant ballroom while leaning against a white marble wall, out of sight.

I watched all the girls in their big sparkly dresses, spin around on a dance floor with their respective partners, outlandish masks in place over their eyes.

I adjusted my simple navy blue mask back into place and fixed my black suit back up. And I was about to go back to my mates and actually try and socialize a bit, when I caught sight of a girl, who looked so different than the rest of the girls here, in their brightly colored, puffy, over the top ballgowns and their masks practically falling off their face from all the extra weight on them to make the mask look, ‘fancy’.

No, this girl was the most simple, but beautiful girl i’d ever seen.

She stood at an average height from what I could tell. She was dressed in a simple floor length ivory dress that had no many details and wasn’t even close to as big as what the other girls were wearing (x), her hair was simple (x), her mask was a plain white (x), simple. Everything about her was simple, but absolutely amazing.

Without realizing it, my feet moved on their own accord and walked in a bee-line towards the girl. Who was standing off to the side, alone.

Lauren pov;

I looked up from staring at the ground when I saw a pair of feet stop in front of me. And I locked eyes with gorgeous blue one’s hidden behind a blue mask, blonde hair swept messily upwards. Blonde hair that I would recognize from anywhere. 

It was Niall Horan.

And no, I wasn’t a huge fangirl or anything. I just like their music and appreciate their faces.

My breathing quickened and he stood there smiling at me, his blue eyes looking straight into my own. 

“Have we met before?” He asked, a hint of wonder in his voice.

Well, technically, we’ve made eye contact before, at a signing that I couldn’t get a bracelet for, because I fell off my bike on the way to buy the bracelet and had to get stitches instead. Fun day, still have the scar. But I went to the mall anyways and stood on the floor above and we made eye contact a lot that day.

“Not technically.” I answered him, a small smile appearing on my face.

“Not techinically?” He questioned, presumably also raising an eyebrow that I couldn’t see due to the mask.

“Well, I went to a signing, but didn’t get a bracelet, so I stood aways away in the crowd and I think you saw me, but I don’t know…” I trailed off, thinking I was embaressing myself, as he probably didn’t remember at all. But he surprised me.

“Oh I remember now! I couldn’t stop looking at you, I was hoping you would get something signed, but you ended up leaving before we finished and I couldn’t find you afterwards.” His entire being lit up from remembering. I smiled shyly and adjusted my mask back into place. Niall Horan actually looked for someone like me? This was something out of a romance novel.

A new song started (x), and Niall looked behind him towards the dance floor and back to me, and held his hand out towards me.

“Care to dance princess?” He asked, and I blushed at being called a princess. I was usually the sporty one, being in a dress was not something you can usually find me doing.

I also didn’t know how dance what-so-ever.

But I placed my hand in his and he lead me towards the dance floor and I stood there awkwardly for a second. He laughed his usual amazing laugh.

“Can’t dance, love?” He asked, a smile tugging on his lips.

“Not even a step.” He grinned back.

“Just follow my lead.”

And I did. And it was the most amazing moment of my life. Though I did have to stand on his feet for a minute or two to get a hang of it, but I eventually got it, and had so much fun, we danced for the rest of the night. It was a fairy tale worthy moment. And I didn’t want it to ever end.
